Dunman Road Char Siew Wan Ton Mee (德明叉烧云呑面) @ Dunman Food Centre [Near Joo Chiat Road]

While waiting for mom to finish her well deserved Thai massage, i drove around aimlessly looking for a place to have my breakfast and read the Sunday Times.

That's the problem when there exist too many choices and it's hard to make a decision! As i was about to decide on Marine Parade, i chanced upon Dunman Food Centre; a hawker centre i have never been before.

A handful of stalls were open and only two seemed to attract a constant flow of customers. Dunman Road Char Siew Wan Ton Mee was one of them (the other sells duck rice).

Although i have never heard of it, the logo of Singapore latest food show "Just Noodles (面对面)" pasted noticeably in front of the stall was a good enough reason for me to cast my vote for a plate of wanton noodles.

At S$2.50, i could not quite get the noodles which had a special addictive taste yet appeared to be too hard for my liking. The char siew was definitely not the main star and reminded me of those char siew i had in my childhood; unimpressive.

The wantons, generally disregarded and contained only a pathetic amount of meat, were quite meaty and would likely be one of the better ones in the market [not sure if you notice but nowadays, the wantons seem to contain more meat than before].

What people enjoyed most from Dunman wanton mee is their potent chilli sauce! Don't snigger; the blood red sauce left my lips slightly numbed with the pores on my head sweating non-stop!

For a person who could barely take the spiciness, i guess i have no choice but to give Dunman Road Wan Ton Mee a miss in the future.
