December used to be a month to look forward to every year.
Now, work seems to take up most of my time during the holiday season and it is not helping that i am no longer receiving the 13th month bonus under the employment scheme i signed up for (even though the 13th month is spread over 12 months, having an additional month in cash does have a positive psychological effect).
Things have worsened this time, especially in the financial aspect, which has never been good anyway.
My car started having this irritating cloc-cloc noise every time i made a 90-degree turn and since it's time for its routine maintenance, i figured it would be more convenient for the mechanic to check it out as well.
Source of the problem is a faulty universal joint that connects the steering wheel to the front wheels. Replacement is suggested and the final bill came up to S$467.30!
The mechanic gave me a discount though; he accepted only S$467.
